I'm a big fan of trains. This episode was one I'd been eagerly waiting for since hearing on Twitter how they were scouting for the episode, which involved actual trains. Then more recently pictures were released regarding Kensi and Deeks undercover, and I knew this episode was going to be awesome.
And it was. I loved it so much!
I recommend this picture recap of the episode, done by Sindee at NCIS LA Magazine:
The recap is great, and sums it up very nicely. I am so in love with Deeks' cover in this episode, and Eric played it so well. Add Kensi/Daniela into the mix and I found myself replaying those scenes over and over.
This episode, by my opinion, was very well-rounded. There was a lot of suspense, especially on the tracks towards the end. And yet my most favourite portion is probably the Deeks/Kensi undercover stuff. And the bathroom scene - seriously, is the NCIS world trying to tell us something about the potential bathrooms have for aiding in chemistry, couple progression, and therapy sessions? I loved it.
I also liked the added touch of Mercury being in Retrograde. That was cool. I know about it, so to have it added on the show during the appropriate time period was a nice touch. We even got a little of a "musical episode" element to this one, with Eric and then with Densi. In fact, I could probably ramble for ages in listing all the things I enjoyed about this episode. I won't, though, but this episode is going in my top 25 favourite NCIS: LA episodes of all time list. Yes, that's a real thing. I seriously have that list.
So, what did you think of the episode? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Did you like the trains? And the end scene with Hetty messing with Deeks - or was that Mercury's fault? Were Kensi and Deeks the star signs you thought? Does anyone know the matching of those two signs, like how some people look up capability based on star signs?
Great ep. I'm totally gonna re-watch it on the weekend.
