The launch of our NCIS: Blue series was aimed for the late-December to early/mid-January time period. As you can see, and from our previous statements, this goal was not reached as we'd have liked. This was purely due to unexpected time delays based on real-life incidences. At the time of this update, we have only 2 head writers; overall, only 4 official project members. It is our priority to gain more writers and project members as time goes along, to ease the weight of the writing tasks coupled with the time deadlines.
For now, we can only do our best and established a new goal. The first episode takes a lot longer than any other to develope, as it involves all the necessary set-up - once it's complete, we're confident the next episodes won't be quite as complex and time-consuming.
We have a lot of material written, and things are progressing wonderfully - we simply haven't been able to complete the required amount needed to launch the series by January. We need at least 2 or 3 complete episodes to ensure we can release a new episode each week on a regular schedule. So, yes, we must delay the launch a little longer. We will not announce for certain the official launch date as of yet, but as soon as we know you will know. We're hoping it won't be more than several weeks.
We're currently working on designs for the mobile unit where the NCIS: Blue team members will consider their "home" during the series. Though we have most of the first episode written, we have not yet got around to doing these designs in such an official capacity. Please let us know either here or via Twitter @ncisblue if you'd like to see the final digital result (likely floorplan style) of the unit when we're finished. We will eventually put it on site, to aid the reader in visualising the area while reading, but we'd like to release it sooner as something new for readers/fans to enjoy/discuss while waiting for the series launch.
It'll be a good chance to theorise situations, discuss who might be sleeping where, and so on. We strongly encourage our members to be as interactive as possible here on site, and through Twitter, though we're hoping to help this further by having a site moderator to keep everything active on site. If you're interested and are a member with a 20 post count or higher, please PM me.
On behalf of the entire NCIS: Blue Project Team, I would like to thank every person who is still interested in this series and who have joined/participated either here on site of via Twitter. We are all very appreciative of your continued support and enthusiasm for this series. We are all working very hard to get things where we want them to go, and we thank you for your patience.
